Hemplement

Hemplement was a collaborative research analysis project in which my group and I identified current and upcoming trends within the next 10 years, along with the signals, implications, extrapolations, etc to conceive a product/service that would succeed and be suitable for that future trend. With the newly introduced legislation legalizing hemp production as of 2018, we decided to market our product around industrial hemp, with our main focus being the re-introduction of hemp as an untaped viable material in our current ecological climate that has the potential to disrupt many other industries for its various applications and advantages. Hemplement offers hemp-based eco-friendly furniture marketed towards a new generation of people who understand that the future is in their hands and are ready to make an impact!

Pillow Pal

Working together with The Women's Development Network and The Young Street Mission, Pillow-Pal is a one of a kind pillow designed specifically for the young children of Regent Park that aims to comfort them through this time of transformation. Handcrafted with the softest fabric, and equipped with an interchangeable (microwave safe) bag that can either be heated up or cooled down depending on the desired effect, this form-fitting soft good pal is perfect for any kid, even those who don't reside in the park itself. Inspired by the physical look of the previous iconic buildings of the park, kids can now always find solace within the pillow recognizing that the old Regent Park lives on.

In 2005, the city of Toronto began working on proposals centered around the revitalization of Regent Park, which aimed to reinvigorate the neighborhood by demolishing the buildings and reconstructing them to add a modernized look and feel in hopes of revising its reputation and reviving interest in the area as a whole. In May of 2014, the first of the five phases of a seven-year plan began with the demolition of half the sector's structures causing a mass displacement for its residents in the process.
The following information was collected by the 2012 Census / National Household Survey paid for by the government of Ontario
